They keep finding small excuses to touch you

A tap on the arm, a nudge, a hand on your back to get past you. Each one is deniable, and that is the point. People use deniable contact when they want more and are not ready to be caught wanting it.

How to read it

Watch the direction. Accidents are random and these are not. If the same person keeps ending up within arm's reach of you and of nobody else in the room, the accident has become a habit, and habits are chosen.

Watch the audience as well. Contact that only happens with other people around can be performance. Contact that happens when it is just the two of you is a decision somebody made with no cover story available.

When it means nothing

Some people touch everybody. If they greet their friends the way they greet you, you are reading their personality and not their feelings. Culture matters more on this signal than on any other one here, and so does alcohol.
